Alguma vez você se fez a si mesmo esta pergunta? A pergunta é bem relevante porque da sua resposta vai depender sua capacidade de ser autônomo, de não trabalhar para outros, de realmente viver sem chefe. Quantas mais coisas você souber fazer mais opções você terá de criar valor, atender as necessidades de alguém ou resolver problemas. E é isto que você vai precisar fazer sempre: resolver o problema de alguém. O único motivo pelo qual as pessoas se desfazem de seu dinheiro é para terem uma necessidade atendida ou um problema resolvido.
Então você precisa ter claro o que você sabe fazer. A boa notícia é que com certeza você sabe fazer mais coisas das que você acha. Pense nos três seguintes pontos:
1. Os cursos que você já fez
O mais importante dos cursos que você fez não é o conteúdo técnico que você aprendeu. O mais importante são as referências que você tem sobre onde buscar a informação e, especialmente, as pessoas que você conheceu e o que você sabe sobre elas. Como você pode ajudar essas pessoas? Como eles podem ajudar você?
2. Os trabalhos que você já teve
No seu trabalho você faz (e tem a oportunidade de fazer) muitas mais coisas do que aquelas que constam na descrição do seu cargo. Em todos os empregos que você já teve adquiriu habilidades técnicas e comportamentais que lhe serão muito úteis. E claro, também conheceu pessoas.
3. Os seus hobbies
Quando gostamos de algo geralmente dedicamos a isto um tempo considerável, e pomos um interesse maior. Em muitas ocasiões, com a devida dedicação, um hobbie pode virar uma fonte de renda. Talvez você goste muito de aeromodelismo (ou de qualquer outro assunto não relacionado com o seu trabalho) e sabe mais do que ninguém sobre este assunto.
Depois de você analisar estas três coisas você terá uma ideia mais clara do que você sabe fazer, em que áreas você é bom e ao que você gosta de dedicar seu tempo e será capaz de escolher um nicho. Agora só resta mudar a sua atitude: pare de ser um puro consumidor de informação e comece a produzi-la. Escreva um blog ou um livro, dê palestras ou crie uma associação. Comunique o que você sabe, se apresente como expert no seu campo e não tenha vergonha. Porque se você tem vergonha continuará trabalhando para esse chefe chato que você tem, enquanto outros com menos conhecimento e mais cara de pau terão a vida que você deseja.
